Is there someone you loved/knew that "got away" because of something you did/didn't do that you still think about?

There was one man, his name was Bruce, and he seemed perfect for me in every way, but I was far too immature and needy back then and I think I talked him right out of a relationship.  I often wonder if I could have it to do over again, if it would be different.

I think everbody should have one that got away, it's humbling.

I did like a chap way back in the early 80's before I met my husband. He was a wonderful person, but the timing wasn't right.

I do still think of him fondly.

Keep finding myself thinking about answers to the threads instead of work!!! So I'll get this answer out of my head before I face the day.

Brendan was the one that got away. I met him at art school - I used to hope he would be in time to get on my bus as his house was on my bus route. He was in the year below me and a bit younger. We bumped into each other in Birmingham and we went to McDonalds and spent 2 hours eating those hot apple pies! Trouble is I didn't tell him I had a boyfriend and just as I decided I was going to dump Stephen for him he told someone how much he liked me and they told him I had a boyfriend. That was the end of that. Served me right really! I ended up marrying Stephen - big mistake!

But if I hadn't and if things had worked out with Brendan then I might not have Terry and the boys. Fate takes us the right direction in the end.

I'm glad you popped in Stephanie. Your presence here is missed.

I agree with the above. I don't doubt that this other chap and I would have been great together, had kids, loved each other to the end. But it wasn't to be, and now I have THE most wonderful husband and sons, I wouldn't part with them for any memories.
