President Barack Obama signed an equal-pay bill into law Thursday before cheering labor and women leaders who fought hard for it and the woman whose history-making lawsuit gave impetus to the cause. |

They keep saying mortgages are at an all time low, it's the perfect time to buy a home, but the banks aren't lending except to people who don't really need it, so how does that help the person with less than a 3 figure income? |

Obama is coming up with some goodies right now, we will have to see how many get passed...he's talking about tax credits for under three figure incomes and house remodeling for improvements on basic structures in the house, like furnaces, air condioning, painting and up keep..that might help keep some of the unemployed busy for an bit until they can generate new jobs, keep the quality of housing up also...save an few frantic lives of people these days. Also talking about health benefits for people also..the ones that aren't on govt.subsides, as well as the older ones on Medicare and Social Security have to lose everything they own before any help does arrive if they have medical expenses. I have always said that eveyone, needs the "basic;s inlife fairly well free, in shelter, medical, heat/air conditioning/ and food before we can truly say we are out of the centuries of the past. Education and cleanlness needs to be added up there also...many years ago I was sponsoringf the UNICEF in the Children's rights measure, but they said back then that it was only as good as the leaders that adhered to it. One of it's rights was no child under 16 could be made to fight in wartime. I think because it's said during the "Gulf War" or some such leadhis troopsin to be killed with smallkids so he could save his elite trained troops there afterwards as much as possible. It also sai dno child could be sold by anyone also...stopping the child "porn" rings out there these days.as as I know it was passed, but rather it's adher ed to seriously is another question. I often wondered hwo the owrld could not but understand the need fo rthese children's "rights" to life. |
