Jason, how big is this print?  Did you happen to measure it?

Wild looking thing...I'm not sure on the claw marks, looks like four or five though...almost...like an hand. Need more informaiton on it, size of print, location, general animals in habitat area..I have several books on tracking an could probably look it up if it's not Jason made, after you answer the other questions. I'm not seening any "Pad" markings for it being an animal so far. You know what i'm talking about, ususally an pad...and then the toes or claws. Also I need stride markings of it walking...for clarification.

I promise you all i haven't made it myself!   i just photographed it.  But Shirley, your right, the pad definition isn't very deep, so it would figure it hasn't put a lot of weight on the snow. It was 3/4 the size of my hand, and there was a lot of them, like a track of an animal! Wondering if it is the imprint of a bird wiggling about in the snow? but it was a definate line, so maybe not!!  I really wish i'd have taken more pics, but i felt sure someone would tell me what it was pretty quickly!

I better be careful in the woods tomorrow!!!Surprised

Looks like a very interesting melt pattern to me. Sorry, don't mean to be a spoil sport, but that's my take.

Your not spoiling anything Sue. You might be right, but there was a lot of them about!! so its more likely to be a print of some sort, whether its a birds body print or some other animal that lives in the wood.

Seriously i'm surprised somebody didn't just say straight away what it was!!  i would have taken lots more shots etc... and had a really good look round if i thought it was going to be so hard to identify!!
