There was a set of them!! leading through leaves etc...forest floor, thing is, the snow was mushed up so you couldn't see where they really led, it was into the trees!!  it was kind of near water, not real close, but not far!  there was rabbit tracks close by, i know what they look like!!Smile

Bit smaller than my hand Sue, about 3/4 the size.

And you couldn't see any sign of anything dragged Krissy, although like i said, the snow was mushed up a little way into the trees, just because there was lots of twigs/roots and leaves etc...

My guess is that it's some kind of bird who was maybe hopping around but too small to clear the snow, which elongated the prints. And when I say guess, that is exactly what I mean     .

Maybe Andy will have an idea, as a fellow bird watcher.
