We cannot begin to understand the mentality of those who deliberately start the fires, but that aside for now hoping that they catch those responsible in due course. Our sympathy and prayers are for the poor souls who have lost their live's, their families, their friends, their homes, their wealth! Just so unbelievable and yet it has happened. I know this website is about England primarily, but I believe there are plenty of people throughout this land, who would like to add to this thread in passing all the sympathy and prayers their way. It does just make you wonder why God would allow this to happen doesn't it? So, so sorry dear friends of Australia. |

I have been thinking allot about Harry too, with his illness. It's worrying not to have heard from him (his wonderful poetry) for a while. |

He and his wife were travelling at the same time....we were almost able to meet up. Think we missed each other by a couple of days no less. As you say, hope they are all OK! Harry? Yes I think we have all missed Harry's poetry haven't we? Hope he too is OK! |

Front page news here...130 peope killed some 800 square miles burned, 750 homes, and they barely have the time to get out with 100 foot flames and 69 MPH winds, not to mentioned temperatures in the 117 degreee mark. 3,000 firefigher's battling them, 80 people hospitalized with 20 of them burn victims not expected to survive. "John Ryan watched in horor as in 10 minutes the sky turned from blue to black and the fire engulfed his area, "you couldn' tsee anything, and you couldn't get out"..you just hoped your house didn't burn down"...he made it..but many of the houeses have been simply "exploding" from the heat way before they are burning. The Governemnt has set up an $6.5 million dollar relief fund, including immediate payments of $650 to victims of the blaze, Rudd also sent in the army to help fight the fires and provide emergerncy relief"...the task now is determining if they were "natural" widlfires, or arson set fires...which would be they said the same as "mass-murder". |

It seems that if these are being "set"someone knows how to make the best of the weather conditions. |

He believes it's arson and says of course there are no words to describe it! God bless them all, but please help them! |

It is such a worry. They already had their home in this country partially destroyed by fire a few years ago. Hopefully they will be safe. It is such a terrible situation. I agree, god bless them and keep them safe. |
