Sorry to hear that Rick, but sometimes even losing an "loved one" is like losing everything you have in life. What is it my dad use to tell me, put nothing of value to anything earthbound for it all will pass by in your life at some time...it is not "eternal". No, fire, but having been learning the lesson about the last 5 years real strong here lately. ((HUUUGGGSSS)

Just watching Sky News....an emotional Australian Prime Minister struggles to come to terms with it all. He believes it's arson and says of course there are no words to describe it! God bless them all, but please help them!

I was waiting to hear their determination because "vision" wise I've been picking up the same thing with California for several years now, not sure if this "guy" they caught was behind it or not though, there seems to be some kind of conspiracy against  earth "habitation" right now in general. I know that mankind is being blamed, but I think it goes deeper then just that, we seem to be the nice "excuse" for what's going on. Massive fires recently have been across Canada, southern Oregon,  all areas of California, around Yellowstone in the past...it's been in some ways hard to tell if "set" or weather related. I see an small band of an few that concentrate on setting them, perhaps un-employed forestry fire fighter's looking fo ran job, terrorists of somekind (not necessarily just Al Queda either) , illegal mexicans, or someone that benefits from the fires...it would be interesitng to know the areas this affected in Austrailia.  What kind of income media they had...what kind of housing projects were affected...rather the people had fire insurance also.  They have been hitting some pretty expensive areas in California.

Yes, I saw an picture of the fireman into today's pictures sharing his water ...an good deed...has anyone heard from Wolf or any of the other "aussies" use to come here? It's burned well over 1, 000 acres now...death toll is higher now also. So really sad, prayers to them all.

Looks like this Koala, a female now named Sam, will be looked after for about 5 months before being released into the wild agian. There's a male Koala at the sanctuary that seems to have become very friendly with her.  It just seems so amazing how on earth she survived?

This in todays paper:

Authorities charged a man Friday with lighting one of the wildfires that killed a total of more than 180 people in Australia, and whisked him into protective custody to guard him from public fury.

Police said the suspect was charged with one count of arson causing death and intentionally lighting a wildfire near the town of Churchill that killed at least 21 people. The suspect also was also charged with possessing child pornography.

The suspect's identity was being kept secret for his own safety, Victoria Police Assistant Commissioner Dannye Moloney told a news conference. He was brought to the state capital of Melbourne from Morwell, 75 miles (120 kilometers) to the east and near the the town of Churchill.

"He has been moved from that area and moved to the Melbourne metropolitan area for security reasons," Moloney said.

Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported from Morwell that the suspect was formally charged in the town's magistrate's court, but that he did not appear. He was ordered to be held in custody and to undergo psychiatric evaluation, the broadcaster said.

Police said in a statement that Magistrate Clive Allsop banned publication of any details or photographs of the man that could identify him. Another court hearing was scheduled for Monday.

If found guilty, the man faces a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison for the deadly arson charge, and a maximum of 15 years on the second arson charge.
