The traditional topping for pancakes is lemon and sugar, and very nice it is too.

We have pancakes at least once a week, and I like to put Golden Syrup on top. I get it from the English store I order from, though I have seen it once or twice in my 17 years over here in America on the shelf at the local store.

we have an small restruant out here called "The Stepping Stone" and it was featured here recently for selling 13 inch pancakes, you get three to an stack, an lump of butter in the center and fresh strawberries around it and all the fruit syrup you want... 13 inches is bigger then most large plates, more like an serving platter would do.
