They did this on the radio yesterday and people came up with some really funny answers!

Mine was when I was shaking a collection tin in Dudley for the MS Society. This chap came out of a shop opposite where I was standing and said he hadn't got any change but would I go out with him! I was so surprised I agreed. We went out for a few weeks but he was a bit young for me (I found out he was only 17 and I was about 24 which seemed a big difference at that age!) Explained why he had no money though!

I'm thinking...OK..one time while on an "Elks" outting I got grabbed by the arm to join the other ladies in an "tug-of-war" contest, at the time, 5'4' and 129 pounds, I took one look at the opposing team at 5'6 and 250 pounds and knew we'd be drug to our death and honor perhaps trying to gain an inch in this struggle...if not whipped into the air and around the utilty pole close by in the first 5 seconds. We gave it our best, and we lost. But I still walked out with an very nice all wooden hand laid "ice bucket"..no doubt to soooth our bruised bodies and ego's.

I was at a book store browsing one day when a man approached me and started questioning me about the book I was reading. He said he was "fascinated" by my choice and would I be willing to meet with him to discuss some more. I said yes, and we did. Nothing ever came of it but it was flattering to be asked.

In a doctor's office where I worked. Spent two years with this jerk who I found was cheating on me, told me I was too fat but sweet and left me with a gift I never wanted. Yell

I can only think of the gym really. Was 2 years ago. I was all hot and sweaty with my hair tied up. He was 26 years young and so I declined! I was 44! I was a bit bothered why on earth I appealed to him looking like that! Sealed

Something of a phenomenon, Barb.  I started going to a gym when I was in my forties, and I was asked out by a couple of guys (mind you, not at the same time) who were both in their early thirties.  I wondered the same thing as you.  There must be something appealing about a woman who's doing something physical like that in what was traditionally a "man's world".  Go figure!

Yes, I found it a bit iffy! Especially when he waved to me one day as I was walking to work! Thinking of him, I would say there was more meat on a butcher's knife! It's a bit pervy to me! Sealed

I forgot about this one, but it's kinda funny.  When I was 15 my mother coerced me into going out with a  27 year old.  She felt sorry for him because he had been struck by lightening three years before and had spent the past three years recovering, learning how to talk and walk etc, all over again. During his time in the hospital his wife had left him and took their young son.

My mother kept hounding me just to go out with him once. I refused but unbeknownst to me she had accepted a date on my behalf. One night I am sitting in the living room and the door bell rings, my mother tells me to answer it and when I do there stands this guy with a pathetic grin and a wilting bouquet of flowers.

I felt sorry for him and agreed to go out.  After taking me to McDonald's he drove me to the local "lovers lane". After I slapped his face I got out of the car and walked the 4 miles home. Then I was fuming; but now it's funny! Laughing
