For the most part the guys "babied" me an lot though to help me. My hubby creeped back after he got to the cabin one time and oftered to help me... they'd let me use an wheel barrow,... or else be the one to drive the basic gear into the area we were staying at as they walked it. My parents, both of them, tall and big people, not heavy either, just 6 footers for the most part. I had an aunt 5.9, and my sister is 5.7. You can see my "preemie" in me at 5'4..which has shrunk down to 5' 2 these days...I call it my "problem" years here lately. I also realize how much the guys and boys kept me away from some of the other hardier "gun-ho" miltary type fathers...I think they knew they'd rub me the wrong way attitude wise...one time after yelling at me, and hurting my feelings..I went into an tent to sit it out..as they were dealing with an woman with the girl scout division that acted more like "General Patton" then an woman type human being..and I heard them after she left...come over by the tent and say, is she "OK"..she's not crying is she?..which I wasn't by an far shot...I realized that they didn't want me around this type of an gun-ho woman either. I guess I was an "friend" in an ways. Around me they could just be "themsleves" for the most part. |
