I like fresh lawns mowed, I'll agree with you in that one, but I always like my mother making homemade Grape Jelly also, or Apple pie, or Roast Beef dinners...and for posies..Lilac's, Hycinthe, Roses.....I like breakfast cooking out in the woods "camping"also something about the bacon I think...rain, when i ffirst starts in an hot summertime, line dried clothing.

Thanks Shirley, it is always the good guys who get dumped, so I keep telling myself. In truth I think I just bored her to death falling asleep after working so hard for Dad. Cool

Standing in the pits when they fire up the funny cars and dragsters...ahhh...the burning of my sinuses and watering of my eyes...wonderful.

Also, the smell of jet exhaust...brings back memories of my jet engine mechanic days.

Do you ladies remember the smell of a new doll on Christmas morning?  I've smelled many things over the years with that same plasticy smell, and it's what always comes to mind.

The smell of cucumbers and cantaloupe instantly conjure up warm memories of my grandmother.  I also love the smell of freshly mown grass, it brings with it a sense of freedom and leisure...

Horses, hot in from a run, the scent of their breath and saddle soap from the leather girth and bridle. On the North Mountain above the Bay of Fundy, laundry pegged & hung in the landward wind on a line made of sisal rope with a forked red osier willow for the prop in the middle, which swayed back and forth. Haymows, where the loft is warm and fragrant and  pigeons and swallows fly in and out of the open windows.. milky smell of newborn kittens found tucked in a round nest between the bales, peonies on a summer evening and petunias and lobelia in hanging baskets.

and, whatever fuel mixture they used for the model airplanes when I was a kid..( 40's).the planes handheld by wires and I can still see the men flip the prop to get the engine started..and the blue smoke and droning of the little plane circling our field.
