Marianne and Sue, I think many of us suffer from this more than we care to admit. As far as I am concerned you are both lovely and have so much to offer us here. I am grateful to have you both as part of our POE family. I wonder if the lack of close family ties and the way people live in general today (that is, closed off from one another) has anything to do with it? Even when we live in the same house with others we often see each family member going off into their own rooms and doing things privately rather than spending time together. It worries me when I see children today going out and playing video games that don't require much interaction on a personal level. Even going to the movies...don't get me wrong, I love a good movie once in a while too, but again, it's something that doesn't require communication or contact with others. It's frightening to see how desensitised we are becoming to each other. I think that a great deal of feeling secure and valuable as a person comes from positive interaction with other human beings.

It happens when I laugh, when I cry, when I am excited, when I am angry, when embarrassed, you name it, and I'll turn red. And it's not a pretty shade of red either! |
