Gosh, that's a hard one!  Assuming the harnessing of electricity is a given, I'd have to say the washer and dryer. Can you imagine going back to the days when it literally took two or three days to do laundry for a family of four? Yikes!

If I had to go back to a having no washing machine (I'm happy hanging laundry out on the line), I think I'd have to go back to cave man times, where we wore nothing or nothing but a animal skin.

I love the computer. I love having instant access to my friends. I love being able to take a picture on my camera and look at it straight away.

For me, it would have to be the computer and all that goes with it, like the digital camera!  I agree with Sue that it's great to see photos straight away!  Laughing I can do without the washer-I would gladly take the washing to a nearby river and launder it there, but hey, I need the laptop!! LOL

Toliet paper.  Just run out of it sometime and you'll see what I mean,... perhaps after that would be "fire"...it enables us to have more comfort in the world then we most the time can imagine.
