Well i  would not hurt another human either but I think it would be my first reflex to swerve to miss the animal not trying to hit the human instead of course.

It's human nature to swerve when anything living gets in front of your vehicle, but you really must try and train yourself to ignore the little critters.

Of course, I've closed my eyes before and run over a squirrel, and I'm thinking that closing the eyes is not good either.

Oh i'd hit the human any day rarther than the animal in the road (apart from a child)Surprised  I do brake for animals, its us that wants to go fast everywhere in cars, we should be aware of our surroundings and animals that have just as much right to be there! controversial i know, but i can't help it!

Rick.....the Chipmonks? At Christmas of course!!

Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer
We've been good, but we can't last
Hurry Christmas, hurry fast
Want a plane that loops the loop
Me, I want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
