Hi everyone

I volunteered at my local museum a number of years ago as I have always been interested in local history.  The museum is a charity run organisation so relies on funding/donations.

I was very lucky to get this job, I think my colleague must have seen something in me.

I get sent on various courses to do with object handling, disaster planing, moulds and loads of other things.

I don't have qualifications as such, just the enthusiasm/determination to keep our museum open.

Take a look at the website, www.millomfolkmuseum.com.  I hope it's ok to put this website on.

I will shut up now

It certainly is okay to give the museum a plug Karen. Good luck.

i bookmarked it , you never know, maybe some day I'll get over there and can visit it all. I did an exchange one time in the Lancanster C., Pa. Historical society Festival with our "Blues" Festival yearly. We use to have an yearly photograph picture they had special made that was framable. We exchanged posters on our Fesitvals. Those are now collector items, last I heard one of the younger photo lay-outs is worth $150...sold orignally for $25. Crystal Gayle was in town at the Oregon Garden recently for an concert. They also have an Frank Lloyd Wright house there on site they have restored.  It's on line also. The Lancaster Co., Pa festival is an large one, I think it said they draw about 300,000 people yearly. So..i fI evr get over there, I'll be sure and ask for Karen, just to meet her someday.

I've been having cable problems, they got in the fiber optic cable line (Verizon)finally, but in the process they cut through my Comcast cable line I have now, which was making my computer pull so much power trying to get on-line that it would take the computer out on it's own, as well as my larger big tv set. So the city made Comcast get an permit I guess and they relaid my cable line again, and my big TV set is off in repair from an possible blown chip in it, and they swtiched the computer up another notch to Explorer 8...and yahoo has an different home page also. Lots of changes. That;'s why I haven't been in to much as of late, all these people here you know. They also re-wired my downstairs computer, I don't know if that will help it or not, I have not turned it onin an long time. this also took out my sons lap top. Hes' working on trying to find out the problem on it. Of the five computers I have, only two are working. the rest need repairs, whenever I can afford that. Someone sure doesn't want me on-line I think...or else they make business off other peoplel by way of computer repairing.
