Listening to the long list of possible side effects is quite enough to put me off taking the drug entirely.  They sound worse than the original ailment!

Depression isn't cured by a box of tablets. I should know! Depression is cured by eliminating the root of the cause! I should know that too! I did eliminate my cause and hey presto, I'm no longer depressed!

Thanks Barbara, but, to be fair, it did take me a long, long time to acomplish it. I also know that it is no use anyone telling a depressed person to pull their socks up, or cheer up etc. It is a clinical problem and you do need medical/proffessional help in overcoming it. Sometimes the root of the depression cannot be eliminated, i.e. having neighbours like Stephanie's. Therefore sometimes, Prozac can help by easing the depression enough for the sufferer to be able to cope with the problem, making it easier for them to understand things and work out a way to 'get better'

If you get my drift! Sorry, I do waffle on a bit sometimes!

If they are helping you cope then ok Cathy. Once you have rid of of your cause, chuck them away. Prozac helped me on one hand yet increased my anxiety. Undecided Coming off them was hell!

Debbie, prozac made me lose weight! I'm not sure if it was them themselves or the increased anxiety!

They also made me feel like I had a head full of cotton wool!  Or was I just born that way........Tongue out
