Hi Debbie:  I don't know if over the counter stuff works for you, but I think Excedrin makes a migraine tablet now.  A few people I know have used it with good results.

I think Stephanie gave you some good advice.  I'd call the insurance co to see if they'd allow extra for out of country travel.

I go to England for six weeks at a time, some years, and a call to my insurance always does the trick for my perscription.

Thanks Ruth & Sue, Your right I talked to my pharmacist today and he said the same thing call insurance co and they may allow it since we will be out of the country so i emailed them tonight so maybe i will get a response soon..

I had to stop taking the "triptans" like Imitrex, Maxalt, Zomig, because of the side effects, mainly chest pain!  They seem to tighten up all of my muscles for about 20 minutes or so, and it just kept getting worse.  But, now I take Topamax to help prevent the migraines, and I may have only 3 per month instead of 3 per week, like before, and they're not a severe, so I can deal with it.

I do have some sideeffects like some chest tightness not really pain but the worst is the jaw tightness but it does not last long so pros vs cons i still use it i did try the Topamax and it helprd some but some of mine are kinda weird cause if my neck problems triggers the migrain ONLY the injections help .....Weird,,lol gald yours got some better though even a little better is always great;-)
