Most people around here think any sort of English accent is "posh", no matter what it's thought of over there!  We think you all are classier than we are, just 'cause you're English!

Every yime I go to see my wife's family in Arkansas the locals think I am Australian and by gum they arent posh!

"locals think I am Australian", I've found that to be true in most of America, especially in the northern states. The only place they seem to get it right most of the time is in Florida but I expect that's because so many of us travel there they are used to our accents.
