I'm kind of half an half, I like the idea I can go over an shut things off when ever I like also. I don't beleive to many of you have any idea of the sound of rain on the roof in an log cabin in the mountains near an roaring fireplace...baking home made bread and just talking to someone. It's what makes memories. |

One of my favorite childhood memories is laying in bed at dusk and hearing the birds sing me to sleep. To this day, I love that moment...just when the sun is setting and the birds still sing. |

It feels like a form a slavery sometimes. That's why I sometimes go days without being here. I just have to step away. I opened a Facebook page last month and had it for about a week, but then had to give it up. A lot of what we do is self-imposed, so it's good to unplug once in a while. Like you said - get back to basics. We were gone from Aug 10-27, and in that space of time, I only looked at the computer twice - once to check the weather and once to print our boarding passes for the flight home. And guess what - I'm still alive!!! I went to the office on Friday and spent 8 hours on email, and only got about 2/3 through it. Not looking forward to Monday - yikes! But I do agree with Peter - the internet builds friendships that would be impossible without it. Makes trip planning a lot easier than it used to be too.

But you hit the nail on the head! Information overload! I find myself walking away from my PC alot lately too! Did it yesterday, no pc, no tv, no radio...sounds of near silence was nice! |
