Dirty beaches, would you let your children paddle in it?

It's the same in Massachusetts. I am always astounded by the people who will go swimming in a beach that only the day before was closed due to high sewage content. Excuse me? Just where did it all go in a day? Disgusting, what we have done to our waters. I had my annual physical last week and my doctor asked me about my dietary habits and when I said I don't particularly care for fish she said she doesn't recommend eating much of it anyway because our waters are so toxic that the fish aren't safe to eat anymore. How sad is it when your doctor says she wouldn't recommend eating fish?
