Hi.  After reading Stephanie's 'Mothers Fighting' post, did anyone hear todays news?  Heres a brief outline: A school dinner lady has been sacked for 'breaching pupil confidentiality' by informing the childs parents that their daughter had been bullied at school!

Here is a link to this unbelievable story....

I can well believe that Toby. The schools are full of cover ups about everything! I am still fighting my case against my 8 (now 9) year old son's school - he went on a 4 day residential activity holiday and he broke his arm on the 1st day. They didn't take him to hospital or inform us. They wrapped it up with a temporary wound dressing and told him to get on with the activities such as the climbing wall even though he kept telling them he was in pain. The other children even pressed the emergency button at night because he was so distressed, I only found out 4 days later on their return and luckily my friend was a witness to see how swollen his arm was at school because they tried to say that it had happened on his return in my care! I took him straight to hospital. Now they are blaming him for not making enough fuss!!!!

That's outrageous!!! She was looking out for the girl!! I am not developing too good of an opinion of the schools over there. First what they did to Stephanie and her son and now this. About time parents took a stand all together and forced a change!!

It was - he says he is never leaving us again - I hope he gets over it in time. He was so upset and wouldn't even give me a hug. When I asked him why he said he thought hadn't bothered to fetch him! I was so upset - the head teacher said to me at no time did they promise to tell me! I said that any child would expect his parents to be informed if he was injured.

I agree Cathy - things over here need a big overhaul! I am trying to do my bit - I have got the complaint to Local Authority stage but it is a hard slog against burocrats who want to sweep this sort of thing under the carpet.

We fought a long and hard battle over a similar situation writing to the Prime Minister Tony Blair (that was), the Crown Prosecution Service, the Education Authority, the local MP's, Thames Valley Police, the school Board of Governors, the Parent Teacher Asociation, Social Services, SODC for an ASBO to name but a few and still the mindless offender got away with stabbing our grandson in the head!! This country has gone to the dogs, we need to take control and show the so-called PC brigade that they are VERY WRONG!! Before long the worm will turn...

I've already been through the school bit Steph, I'm into the lousy no good doctors/medical staffing right now. I got an "form" letter today "un-signed" ....unless it's signed by the doctor, I'm sticking to his last statement he said, see you in an year...that he signed. Anyone can send out an "from" letter...that means very little professionally. Charltans all over are capable of doing that much.

Yes Shirley - we've had our problems with doctors too - and dentists!

Ron it was awful what your Grandson went through - you can't believe what they get away with these days. There seems to be one rule for one person and one for another. I'm sure if I did anything wrong they would be down on me like a ton of bricks!

It's a crazy world where people can get away with violence at school or in the playground and yet if they walked in the playground smoking or with a dog they would probably get arrested!

So why is it that we can't get anything dealt with appropriately? We need to think about the future before it's too late, but there you go again, what do we do, any suggestions members? Start with a website petition to the Government maybe, thus creating a permanent lobby? I await your further thoughts...
