Lawson Posts: 2310 Joined: 17th Jul 2008 Location: USA | quotePosted at 00:41 on 5th October 2009 Thought you'd like that intro to it all Jason...first you have to make the Museli..you can buy ti now in some stores, its an health cereal...th original was deveolped by an Swiss Doctor and was grain s of oats, rye, millet, wheat germ, and barley, you cooked them and rolled the into 1 iche balls and coated them with as you call them chopped "cobmuts". Oregon Hazelnet Museli... 1 cup toasted hazelnuts, 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, 3 cups quick cooking oatmeal, uncooked, 3/4 cup wheat germ, 1 cup of raisins (I think you call them saltans over in England). 1/2 cup dried apricots, chopped up, 1/4 cup coconut, 1/2 cup brown surgar (optional),...blend, store air tight, eat as an cereal or use to make cookies, muffins, breads, etc. Oregon Hazelnut Museli cookies 4 cups of bran flakes, 1 cup buttermilk, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspn baking soda, 1 batch of the following receipe of energy balls. combine all ingrediants including the hazel nuts to roll the energy balls in and spoon 1 Tablspoon of mix on greased cookie sheet, bake 350 degree F for 12 mins..soft and chewy, makes 40 cookies. Oregon Hazlenut energy balls 1/2 cup of peanut butter, 1/3 cup dry milk, 1/4 cu[ grated cheese, 1 cup of museli, 1 cup hazel nut, mix ingrediants , let stand 5 mins, roll into 1 inch balls and coat with chopped hazel nuts. It is defineately an survival type food Jason for an local work-out at the gym in excerise...or if your on the run and can't cook immediately. |

I've had museli lots, in fact i eat it most breakfasts with fruit yoghurt and honey on, but i've never made it myself, and i've never tried the cookies and balls!! Receipes you can go back to 40 years from now and still enjoy them, "Politics" starts out leaving you sour and is old stuff 40 years alter that still makes you sour to read it. Such is the thinking of today...hopeless. |
