One time I gave my son an Christmas album custom made off all Chirstmas cartoons, just because I thought they were so cute. Like trying to get Marmaduke the dog out of bed when its snowing outside..then Odie and Garfield discussing their breakfast.....as Odie" the dog was high spirited wagging his tail over an bowl of dog food, Garfield looks down at his and says..Good grief man!...where's the Egg Benedict? You have to balance the good the bad the sad, the glad of it all. |

Seriously I helped a troubled business out to save jobs & they said I had bought the business & quoted me in several places when I had refused to talk to them because of client confidentiality! I stopped watching the news when Joe was about 5. He was taking the world's problems to heart. He was worrying about it all & I decided he was too young to carry the world on his little shoulders. Now all I do is scan down teletext to see if there is anything I need to know. I also stopped watching soap operas as they depressed me too! Besides enough goes on in my life to write my own! |

Where;s the little green onions at?...you know some people call them "Scallions"...no "Scallions" no work this case, right boss?....right "Friday". If it were not for th newspaper I'd never known where that Davis Graveyard Holloween display is at, we went by it the other day on the way back to take an look. I think the newspapers are getting more comical everyday with the news they print. As people over here are wondering how Obama got the peace prize, I'm wondering how Portland got to be the 9th smartest city...because I see they tend to be judging it on the how many books they have sold at Powel'l's book store possibly. Things seem so wacko any more in society...you just kind of want to tap your fingers and say ...humm. |

So I know how you feel, Diana. Still, I can't resist. I have a need to know what is going on in the world, and it can't be ignored. We just lost another boy in Afghan from Reno.

I have a need to know what is going on in the world, and it can't be ignored. But I definitely get your point, Diana. I think there's just an underlying uneasiness nowadays due to all the bad stuff going on - the wars, the bad ecomomy, diseases, etc. I feel so blessed because I'm fairly insulated from it, while for others, it's their everyday experience. I wonder if the world is really any worse than it ever was, but the constant bombardment 24-7 just gets to be overwhelming sometimes. And as Peter said, people don't want to hear the good stuff, we seem to love murder and mayhem.

It's true, Ruth. It's a shame that it's such a struggle for human beings to rise to their higher spiritual minds. We sink so easily into our animal natures. |
