I have come to realize that the news contributes greatly to the way I think. If the news is bad (and it almost always is) then it sets the tone of my mood for the day. I don't like that.

I have decided to skip the news and to give up reading news papers for one month to see if it makes a difference in my over-all thought patterns. I figure, if there is something important that I need to know about then I will hear about it from others.

What do you think POE? Does the general negativity of the news affect our psyches?

That is a great idea!! The news is a downer!! Nothing but negativity!! I think the media feeds on this. I never watch the news or the papers. If there is something I need to know, my neighbors will tell me. They love gossip!

Lol! Exactly, Krissy. The world is full of people who are only too willing to tell you when something goes wrong in the world.

Do you notice there is very little good news being told. I have no doubt there is lots of good news out there.

Hey Diana....good idea for a thread maybe??? Wink

Great idea for a thread, Krissy! Who ever uncovers a "good" news article first should start it. Smile

Many years ago, there was a news paper started,I think in Manchester, that only printed the good news. They went bust in a few weeks. Nobody wanted to read good news. Paul will probably remember it.
