Having looked at the link above Barbara, I still have to wonder if the meat is safe to eat, indeed whether any meat is safe to eat? The 'professional' reassurance doesn't really do it for me, just something else to worry about I guess!

I don't think I'd be wanting to eat any of that particular pig, just to be on the safe side!  There have been plenty of people who have contracted salmonella, etc. from good old vegetables and salad greens so I think any sort of food could become risky business depending on how it's handled in the processing.

Hey it'd have to be a pretty hardcore flu virus to withstand cooking!!! I think it kills most things!    Apart from the c**p they inject into them to enhance growth etc....Surprised

I'm not going to stop eating pig. In fact, I am so looking forward to my trip to Ireland this week, as I'm going to have REAL bacon for breakfast EVERY morning.

I'm so proud of you for saying that Sue, I have sucumbed these days to turkey sausage more or less most the time. I had those nurses on the phone reading the riot act to me on an occasional diet coke...and the kind I picked up was something new with vitamins and minerals added to it...called diet coke plus. They told me to much sodium in soda. I found some with zero everything just the same. I picked me up some diet green tea earlier in the day.
