Confused reports coming in from Sky just now!

But could it be a ploy to get him off the hook, allow him to disappear?

I wouldn't put it past them Ron.

CBS news is reporting that the Lockerbie bomber's lawyer is denying the rumors and says his client is very much alive.

An open letter to the Lockerbie bomber:

I hope you've had plenty of time to reflect since your release from Scotland in August.  You have much to reflect upon.  I don't know if the murders you committed keep you awake at night, and I hope you have at least one little shred of regret.  If not, well, you'll answer, as we all will, to God for your sins.

I suppose the thing I'm hoping you're reflecting on most is the compassion that was shown you by allowing you to return home to die in the bosom of your family.  Your release was big news all over the world.  Most of us were quite dismayed and felt that you should die in prison because of the destruction of life you caused for so many.  My biggest regret about your release is that the Scottish and United States leadership did not make a public statement to the world you live in - a world where life is so cheap that you would even dupe your young people into becoming suicide murderers.  A statement that says "that's the difference between our culture and yours."

Yes, that's the difference between our culture and yours.  We are far from perfect, because we're human like you.  And God created us just like He created you, with all our shortcomings and weaknesses.  But we value life, even yours.  Ours is a culture of life and forgiveness, for the most part, and most of us are broken hearted when we hear about another terrorist attack that takes the life of so many innocent people.  That's the difference.  I think you can probably guess that if you were a Scottish or American terrorist who murdered innocent Libyan citizens, you wouldn't have been released to go home to Scotland or America on "compassionate" grounds.  In fact, I think you would have been executed in Libya as soon as your trial was over.

So I hope you can make even a tiny bit of restitution by letting your comrades and family and friends know that we "infidels" aren't so bad after all.  Did you ever hear of live and let live?
