My life is being made a living hell at the moment by the British phenomenon "Anti-Social Behaviour" - a clever wheeze invented to keep down the crime figures in our country.

Basically our British youths can run riot vandalising our property and making our lives hell without being arrested for it - just told off and given something called "ASBO's" or Anti-Social Behaviour Orders which is probably the only certificate their parents can get to display on their walls!

Terry rang the police twice last night to disperse some youths who were causing a disturbance. I was out shopping but of course you know he has had his operation and cannot go out to them himself.

Over the last week we have had stones thrown at our house, eggs thrown at our house, our fence kicked, a window broken in my friend's car outside my house, they have "mooned" at us, shouted abuse. Do you think the police can be bothered to come out to sort it out? No - it is dark down that alley next to our house and the nights are getting colder and wetter. I made the 3rd call when I returned home last night to be greeted by the response "I am too busy to listen to you now". My children are too frightened to play outside or in their own garden. Every time they play outside the youths shout abuse over the fence and bang it loudly.

I will never sell my house and probably never rent it out either. I am trapped here. Our only option is to sell it cheap to one of these companies who buy houses for a low price.

I am near to breaking point now. I am sorry to keep burdening my friends - to be honest I am sick of hearing myself moan. I deperately need your prayers.

A few months ago a lady killed herself and her disabled daughter because of so called "Anti-Social Behaviour" and a lack of help by the police. Hers and my story are not in the minority - there are thousands of people out there suffering. Something needs to be done - I wish I had the answer.

I wish there was an answere too Steph. You have my sympathy. I was watching a program on TV about this very thing only a couple of weeks ago. The answere given to a family who were being picked on by a gang of youths was to, "move", because the authorities cant do anything about it. The kids? that do these things ,know that they cant be touched for it.

How times have changed. When I was a kid,if  I was found doing something wrong,I got a clip round the ear from a copper and he then told my Mum and Dad. I then got a wollop off Mum and Dad as well. And that was for only giving a mate a ride on the cross bar of my bike. How things change. We knew that if we did anything bad,we would end up being sent to Borstal. Time to go back in time to a system that worked I think.

The power of POE prayers for you Stephanie. it is just unbelievable that you cannot get the Police to deal with these scumbags once and for all. And you think we are sick of hearing you complain? Well I say keep on complaining dear friend because at least that way you know you are among friends here in the forum.

Are you reading this Gordon Brown? If you are, then do something about it for the decent people among us here in the UK.

That is insanely unfair!!!!! Why do the police turn a blind eye!? What is so PC about letting kids get away with crime!!!!!! ARRGGHH!!!! It's making me angry as I sit here and type this...Steph I cannot imagine what you and Terry must be going thru. Your boys as well!!

What can you do? Fight fire with fire? Get a dog? Seriously? Would a good guard dog help? Sick the dog on them and scare them away? I'm at a loss!!!!

What would happen if Terry took matters into his own hands? Would the police turn a blind eye then?

I really wish I could help! I wish I could be calm and fair and even keeled but....I can't!!!

Krissy you cannot fight fire with fire because the original victims would be the ones in trouble and if you had a dog and their barking frightened them then you would be in trouble for causing them stress. they would probably be sent for a holiday to help them cope with the stress

, Laws, the word has a different meaning today.

I am so sorry for you Stephanie, but sadly to say it seems to be the norm these days

You have my prayers too, Stephanie.  This is so incredibly WRONG!!!  Sounds as if you could use a Guardian Angel patrol in your neighborhood to deal with those people, since the police don't seem to have the guts to do it.
