Unlike you, Debbie, I only "feel" for these girls up until the moment they chose to treat their infants like trash. After that they lose my respect and my sympathy. They deserve to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If the child dies as a result, then they are murderers and should be treated accordingly. In many such cases the mothers are strung out on drugs. Even so, you can't convince me that they don't know the difference between a door step and a rubbish bin. As has been pointed out by others, here in the US there is a policy that infants can be left on the doorstep of a hospital, police or fire station with no questions asked. The is no excuse for dumping a child into the garbage.

And I agree Peter if you are uneducated or on drugs thats no excuse what so ever thats just another problem and these girls could have proper medical care if they just went to the hosp!! I am sorry i just dont understand it and never will and i think they should be prosecuted and maybe it will make others think twice about doing something like that! One girl here actually had a healthy baby boy and left it in the toliet of a gas station and it died from drowning!! they are still looking for her, they have a not so clear picture of here on a security camera,, i mean its murder!!!! Ok i will get off the subject Thanks to all of you for posting your thoughts;))) |

We are not just talking uneducated here we are talking about people with no feelings or morals. Like Debbie said whatever happened to leaving the child in a basket on the steps of the police station or hospital. |

They are to young to be dealing with such grown up issues. An "adult" out having sex would know to protect themself..."kids" don't. |

Sometimes these kids are frightened of what their parents (or thier society) will say or do if they are found to be pregnant. depends on their upbringing, religion or even country they live in. The mother could be young, old, married, unmarried, rich, or poor. She could come from a very strict upbringing or were thier relgoius beleifs will make them outcasts. It certainly is wrong to 'dump' babies born in this way wether still-born or not, but the state of mind of the mother must be in turmiol to make her dispose of her 'birth' in this way. She probely isnt thinking straight due to the situation she finds herself in. mmmm!

While I understand your words, I can not find sympathy for them. It's not like they found themselves pregnant and had only minutes or days to make a decision. They had nine months to seek help and to think about what they would do. The no questions asked policy in the states makes it particularly disturbing that a young woman (and some not so young) would still make the choice to throw an infant in the trash. |

I do not understand how a human no matter what age can look at a baby and not have some feelings of love or care enough for it to try to get help for it???? same thing goes for ppl hurting animals how and why??? just dont get it;(((( |
