I just spent a wonderful afternoon with our Maria. Alas it was all to short and I was sorry to see her go so soon.

I found her to be utterly charming and felt as though I had known her all my life. She is delightful, funny, intelligent, and just a tad bit saucy ;-).

Occasionally, you have the experience of meeting someone with whom you feel an instant connection and for me it felt just that way with our Maria.

Among the many things we have in common we share a mutual love of maritime history and spent a fun afternoon touring a portion of Salem's maritime sites. Afterwards, we shared a bit of lunch and had a lovely walk along the wharf. The weather was sunny and unusually warm for this time of year; just perfect for a day out touring.

Thanks so much Diana, firstly for your patience in these days and me keeping changing the dates!
You've been a great guide and the most delightful company.

One hears a lot about the Internet and how it may be like meeting online pals in person. I say that sometimes what you see is just what you get and that's exactly Diana : cheerful, optimist, inquisitive mind, honest. Last but not least: wish I had half of her class !
I really hope we can make it to Boston too.

No Ray, we've not been arrested, yet ;).

Glad you two got to meet and got on so well. I felt the same when I met Cathy - I felt like I had known her for years. Hopefully next time we meet I won't be poorly and I will be more like my usual self!
