I too have a hodge podge of stuff. Some are hand made but most are store bought. Many have sentimental value, such as the ornaments I've picked up on my travels, or the ones that were given to me to commemorate special people or events.

I prefer a real tree but alas have used an artificial one for the past few years. It's just too darned hard to get a tree up my narrow twisted stairway.

Having said that the tree I have is one of those that looks real. In fact, I put pine scent around the base and many people have been fooled into thinking it's real. You really can't tell unless you get up close and scrutinize it. They are very expensive trees but well worth it when you consider that they will last you for many years!

I agree, your white tree does look nice, Krissy. I tend to be more traditional though and prefer the reds, golds, and greens.

My mom still has decorations that we kids make YEARS ago!! I love hanging on to stuff like that!

Erin and I found a little tinsel tree...3 ft tall...at the store last night! It came in green, red, silver and blue! She was really keen on getting it. I have a fake tree at home but it has seen better days. I want a real tree but not with the cat. I lost Oliver last year because of it. BUT..i will miss going out and finding a tree.

Oh yeah! Poor little Oliver. :-(

Krissy,   had tinsel on my tree for the first time in 15 years last Christmas. I didn't dare have it while Merlin was with me. You hear of horror stories all the time of cats eating the tinsel and it gets all twisted up inside of them and can kill them. I wasn't willing to take the risk.

I know..I worry about Alistair. He eats anything. Poor Erin is in a panic about it already too.
