First hit was 'Heartbeat' reached number 2 in UK top 20.

In the early part of 1955 this singer had five singles in the Top 20 at the same time, an extraordinary record that lasted until the emergence of Madonna in the 80s.

NOTE: The Guinness Book of World Records has confirmed that although Madonna had many hit records, she never equalled or beat this singers record of having 5 hits in the Top Twenty in the same week.

You've got me on this one and can tell you who it isn't----Buddy Holly , assuming it's his song you're talking about;never got very high when released in 1958.   Nick Berry got to number 2 with Heartbeat with the title of the TV show he sang; he wasn't around in 1955. In 1964, The Beatles had 5 songs in the top 20 holding the top 5 positions, but can't be them.

Herman's Hermits/ Peter Noone did well with it, and The Heartbeats was the original name of their group, but not in 1955!
