Its spreading south and all that water will eventually end up down here in Oxford!! Crazy kids are playing in it in Cumbria, where is their common sense?

He's never happy whatever he does Ron! He's hoping to take some flood pictures! He said that maybe he would get stranded there until Christmas - I was not impressed - I'm up to my eyes in work!!!

I think Martin may well get his wish judging by the news comming in overnight. Think it might be best if he parked his car on a hill top though, with 6 to 8 feet of floodwater in Cockermouth creating a dreadful situation up there.

The hotel rang & cancelled last night Paul. He's going south instead! Probably for the best! His niece is stranded up there though - they can't get out of Grasmere.

I say a little prayer for my fellow Lancastrians and Cumbrians caught in the unpresedented flooding in our beloved lake district (12 inches of water in 12 hours). The problem is that the rain has fallen onto saturated ground on our beautiful hills and turned some of our streams into raging rivers. Its being quoted as the worst in 1000 years but hey, we're Brits, whats a bit bit of water, lol. heartbraking for those who will be drying thier homes out as Chrismas approaches, we may need help re-asuring the oldfolk up here though. Great work by our rescue services and neighbours all working as one. 'Team Great Britain'!

A bit late maybe but POE prayers won't go amiss, so from Anna and Ron to the people of the North we are thinking of you and sending prayers for a quick end to the problems you face.

Thoughts and prayers for the brave policeman PC Bill Barker who lost his life trying to stop people going on to the bridge that collapsed under his feet. Thinking of his wife and four children.
