I hate to have to get it I dont even get the flu shot but they are being pretty presistnet about us getting it because we have had so many cases of deaths.  Thanks:))

That's terrible Debbie!! I refuse to get it. The clinics where you can get it, they are showing on the news, are not giving it properly!! So you don't even know if you are receiving it correctly or all of the injection!!

I also heard on the news that there are more people who die from the seasonal flu than there have been from the swine flu. There are lots of deaths each year from the seasonal flu but the media won't tell you about that!!

I think they are blowing it all out of proportion!

I'm not getting it .

My husband got that and the regular shot, and so far no side effects.

I also work for a Doctor, albeit one day a week; but he has said nothing about wanting us to get the shot. Mind you, he's a specialist (podiatrist), so maybe not quite like working in a regular GP's clinic.

They are only offering it to certain "at risk" groups so Terry was offered it but he has already suffered from swine flu so he didn't have it. Now they say they are giving it to under 5's so I suppose they will offer it to little Sol. It's a dilemma - I hate flu vaccinations, they can cause so many problems and side effects but can I take a chance with my beautiful little boy? I don't think I can - will have to go for it. They haven't contacted us yet though.

I think it should be given to all, or be prepared to face the consequences. Your decision of course, but I do think we have to trust the medical profession on this one. Many millions of doses have already been administered if we are to believe the authorities, with minimal, if any reaction. So I say, don't listen to the ill-advised (no pun intended) public who always seem to know someone who had complications because of this or that, when perhaps they really don't know the facts of a particular case. I will be having it if offered.

I agree with you Cathy!!

My mom just recently suffered three heart attacks, small small strokes, has COPD and other problems and all her doctors advised her NOT to get the swince flu vaccine. She did get the seasonal flu and pnenmonia vaccines. They told her NO WAY!

I won't get it and neither will my girls. And no one in my family has either.

I am not getting it and it has nothing to do with what the general public is saying. My objection  comes from personal experience with getting the flu shot in the past. I had a severe allergic reaction and was sicker than I have ever been! Sorry, not willing take that risk again.

A few at my place have had it. I've not, and most people who I trust, doctors, consultants have said they are not having it! I know a fair few who have become quite ill after having it. I think the main reason they want us to have it is to prevent us going sick! its a busy time of year so they don't want people saying they have swine flu and not turning up! Like i've said before i have been to MANY with swine flu, all i've seen have recovered just fine. Although they are anticipating another run of it soon, which may be worse.

Who knows if the vaccine is good or bad, or will work effectively, they admit its not been tested fully, but its the best they've got to date! you just have to make your choice, the same as everything else, lifes always a risk, would be boring if all risk was removed.
