A few at my place have had it. I've not, and most people who I trust, doctors, consultants have said they are not having it! I know a fair few who have become quite ill after having it. I think the main reason they want us to have it is to prevent us going sick! its a busy time of year so they don't want people saying they have swine flu and not turning up! Like i've said before i have been to MANY with swine flu, all i've seen have recovered just fine. Although they are anticipating another run of it soon, which may be worse.

Who knows if the vaccine is good or bad, or will work effectively, they admit its not been tested fully, but its the best they've got to date! you just have to make your choice, the same as everything else, lifes always a risk, would be boring if all risk was removed.

That is so true Jason. Smile

I've not made up my mind yet, whether or not I'll take the shot.  But at the rate they're manufacturing the vaccine, I'm way down the list of high risk people, (thank God), so flu season may come and go before there's any vaccine available for people who aren't categorized as high risk.  It's a little scary though, when I hear about people with no underlying medical conditions who've become deathly ill, or even died, a lot of them in my age group.  But I'm a little torn about the shot, because I've never gotten the flu shot, and never intend to.  In the mean time, I've beefed up my vitamin regimen and my hands are becoming rather reptilian from all the washing.  Hopefully, I'll be able to stave it off that way.

Latest development!!!  A friend of mine has recently been given the Swine flu vaccine, all went well, no immediate reaction. The site of the injection was a little sore, and slightly swollen, but nothing major. He kept his eye on the site of injection, but after a few days it went down and all seemed well!

However ... about a week after having the vaccine he's now suffered a SEVERE reaction to it!!  see below!!!

Very Funny Jason:))))))))LOL

I have not decided for sure yet but i do feel like Ruth mentioned I would hate to think i am taking someone shot that surley needs it more than me I know I work in the medical field and around the sick a lot but there are a lot of older ppl and ppl that have asthma and other health issues that would make them more of a risk than me so i would hate that one of those ppl didnt get it in time but i did.

If there's an effective vaccine .......... use it. Too many apparently healthy people have died from this scourge ..... as well as those who have had a known illness.
