And the third cup, well, put away the Royal Doulton and break out the beakers.

I don't know I'd have to look that one up Ruth. Her era was pretty lavish for the most part though, so it wouldn't surprise me. I have an set of china like that but never use it, it's not Royal Dalton anyway...but it was hand painted, and what dishes I have used the color started going lighter on me so I quit using them, my hubby gave them to me one year. To replace some things he sent me from Viet nam and didnt' make it in one piece. I have them stored upstair attic. I would assume they were pretty inexpensive though...we were young back then...just getting started out in life.

It's nice to keep some of that stuff around, just for the memories, Shirley.  The memories are more valuable than the piece itself.

My Irish war-bride co-worker had the entire set of "Christmas Village" that all the fine stores sell, it reminded her of "home". She left me with an "Nutmeg cookie log" receipe that I'm thinking about making this year. I think she said she brought that over with her also. I just got my hands on another British cookbook today. What is "Christmas Pudding" that you can buy over there?...he says his receipe calls for one pound of it, and it sounds much like an ice cream type receipe perhaps...sometimes its sold in North America during the Holidays.
