You know Queen Victoria was an rather lavish person in her day..this book shows an rather elegant gold tea cup with an tiny seedling tree planted in it and an tiny bow topping it..simply elegant. An simple sprinking of powdered sugar on its branches makes it look it's been snowing. How many ways can you think to use tea cups?

I think Ron wants to "flame it" and then imbibe an wee bit Richard...well....

Cathie I just got an receipe yesterday I sent off to an friend from Paula Dean"s Holiday receipes she's offering to the public this season where you bake an color tinted cake, let it cool, crumble it up, add melted an 16 oz. can of icing or frosting, and mix it all up...refrigerate an bit so it's "sticky" and make small balls out of the cake, then freeze them, take either dark or white chocolate and two toothpicks..melt some chocolate, white or dark , or both.. and then with one toothpick dip the frozen balls into the icing, and take the toopick out by using the other toopick to remove it with. Refreeze the balls, and later before serving dribble with the opposite colored melted icing in an zig zag pattern on top the balls, they showed the cake tinted with red food coloring. Dipped in dark chocolate with whte zig zags and white chocolate dipped with dark choclate zig zags..so add the tea cup full of some of those then... then afterwards, "flame it" and imbibe an bit...you can buy wee "one shot" gasses of booze at the local liquor store.  I understand this is this year's hottest hostess idea for the Holidays goodies...they cakes, but I would guess so is an "shot" of liquor also.

Would never "do in" an fine tea cup... but I have seen them mounted and glued to sticks for out in the garden area in Spring for bird feeders.

Saw an Chrismas tree recently with an cup glued onto it side to the saucer as an tree decorations..try to use one colored theme cups though...match ribbons and lace around the tree for the garland...as well as traditional ornaments.

Have also seen "ironstone" dishes, broken on purpose and used with as tile pieces in making fancy flower pots...an red dish placed into lightly tinted grouting looks nice for the Posentia's. Do this on inexpenisve plastic pots for fine gifts...esp th elarger pots, use "sealer" after its finished for outside.

Victoria was known for her pearls and lace and fancy ladies shoes and stockings you know. I just got my hands on an white velvet "star" pillow outlined in gold braid and pearls. Since pearls are also my birthstone.. cherish them and anything made with them. I have another white Christmas pillow edged in lace with an white tic-tac-toe design and inside of each block is an heart, dove, outline of an tree, and again its done in tiny pearls. three rows randomly placed.

Of course the now "Victoria" I know is our Scout master's wife, an very nice looking woman,  talented also, she's an ICU nurse at an big hosptial in the West hills of Portland...Good Samaritan I beleive is it's name. She is also an tri-athelon runner...where you compete in three different sports, such as running, swimming, and high jump. She can give the guys an good workout in the scout troop and then some on the hiking. She also has an wonderful voice and has sung for St. Michea's Church since an little girl, she sings yearly for their Octoberfest in Sandy, Oregon. But there is the Victoria that wrote this book and then I had an friend named "Cathie" whose adopted mother was named also Victoria. The last orchid flower arrangement I sent in an tea cup was to Vickie above..whose always been there for our scouts through many years...along with her husband.... Richard or "Dick" O'Donell.

the first Victoria for her birthday last year.

LOL, Ron.  You can drink whiskey from a tea cup as long as you extend your pinky whilst tipping the cup, Ron.  Laughing

Shirley, did Queen Victoria have Royal Doulton with hand painted periwinkles?

I don't know I'd have to look that one up Ruth. Her era was pretty lavish for the most part though, so it wouldn't surprise me. I have an set of china like that but never use it, it's not Royal Dalton anyway...but it was hand painted, and what dishes I have used the color started going lighter on me so I quit using them, my hubby gave them to me one year. To replace some things he sent me from Viet nam and didnt' make it in one piece. I have them stored upstair attic. I would assume they were pretty inexpensive though...we were young back then...just getting started out in life.
