I hope Chris and Sarah (POE) don't mind, but I found a web-site recently which I think is worthy of mention here on POE. The site contains lots and lots of info relating to Britain and is fantastic for youngsters (or any age group) wishing to know a little more about our way of life, history etc.

Yes, that's a great site, Toby.  I think somebody else posted it once, when we Yanks needed to have "conkers" explained.

--Toby-brilliant, it is excellent for people who were born deaf to find out what these words mean, I have explained them time and again, also English Language is very difficult for them. When a young friend was taking the theory test for her driving test she came to ask me to explain things such as traffic-jam, she said Jam is something you put on bread, There were many other things as well.

When I adviised a deaf man to see a Dermatologist as he was getting nowhere at his surgery the Doc critisized me saying he was an adult, but he told the Doc he had never heard of the word, Therefore thanks for that
