I thought we'd have some fun....since I'm low on energy, I'd say for myself at least 60 per cent....if I can move at my "own" pace these days, laughs*.... If you add some baubbles, and ribbons..gift wrapping... make that maybe 30 per cent as those "extra's" really cost these days you know. What's your discount rate these days? You have to hurry as the Holiday goodies don't last for to long you know in the discounts. Everything right now over here is 50 to 75 per cent off regualar pricing. I've been waiting for employers to do this to their salesmen for an long time now.

Wild holiday stockings would make it at the 10 per cent level...cause people like wild holiday stockings. Has anyone ever heard of an Palm reader giving New year predictions at discount rates?...I can't say I ever have. I'll have to check out my Fen shu book at see what year it is in there also...for decorating the house.

A good discount on food would be nice. Then we may all be able to eat as we should. Not forgetting the discount on gas and electric. Then we could heat all the rooms in our houses.

And the stockings, yeahhhh. Bring them back NOW! Lol

I had an wild pair of Holiday stockings one time, they were little trees all over and I rubber-banded on an pair of small figurine wooden skiers going down my leg on them...hubby had an small real booze botlle on his foot and the cutest liittle donkie on the other, with an ice pack on his head..he had the most forlorn looking eyes.......as if he had one heck of an headache. It was for my "house" chrismas party one year. But I well remember the wild stockings in colors under mini-skirts and long boots...fake fur "cape" style coats...twas an 70's thing. I have always liked warm snuggly socks to wear.

Some of you guys sound like your "stocking" guys....really turn ya on maybe?...heh..maybe? Perhaps the only thing I've been blessed with, half way decently shaped legs.

I'm learning to use my new phone, it does text messages,  so I was practicing, I told my grand-daughter I just won 23 chickens in an contest...with wild stockings, and told her she could use some glitter on them to make them look fancy, but watch the glue with the blowdryer or she's end up with chickens that looked like POM_POM girls ..seemed to "tickle" her reading grandma's messages.... She texted me back that she'd take them all in that case.

Peter, yes, I agree with you, my brother's been laid off and he figures it may be "Spring" before he's back on an job again....while he gets unemployment, it's not much...and people are not giving the food banks much these days, our Scouts took in half this year what they do normally. It is something to be concerned about.

I suggest though to add an "soup" before the meal though...with crackers...crusty bread.... it tends to fill up better if the meal is smaller. My older sister in-law (now widowed) when I called her today was making apple bread...I have an receipe here for Apple Bread Pudding with Brandy Butterscotch sauce. I have some apples to do up myself , but can't get to them until the guys put the Christmas boxes back up in the attic for me. I agree, in general, prices need to come down...world-wide perhaps at that also.

I just got a discount, sort of. The electric company refunded me £256 that I have overpaid for the year and reduced my payments by £7 a month. If the meter reader bothered to give my readings in,I may not have overpaid in the first place. I now have £7 a month more to spend on food. Hoorayyyyy.

Peter, that is good news. Now you can kick all the critters out of your bed and still stay warm. ;-)

Ah...your little critter is an cutie Diana...mine looks similar, but he has little white boots on his feet. He's not so little any more though. He's quite the man these days, protective of the house also. Getting along with the birds better too...they are caged, but he goes by to pay his morning respects to them. Doesn't get that sudden "eye" to want to chase an bit.

Peter, that is good news. Every bit helps at times. I have my fuzzy blankets. Do you people have like "Army surplus" stores over there? You know how I love to browse in stores...I went into one near here just an bit north of "Boring, Oregon" and they had brand new "Hanes" ladies med sweatshirts and pants for $2 each...and hooded sweathsirts with zipper and front pocket in bigger sizes for $3.99 to $5.99...terrific bargains as they go ususally for $30 in sporting good stores, they were not the typical army camoflauge colors either...but various colors, more like regualr store stock.  They sell everything there I guess you know, though I didn't see the army food rations, if they had them they weren't out in plain site to me. Most military items are very well made you know. I should go back an buy one of the belt folding shovel "covers" for one dollar..and it said down below them to put an hole in the bottom and you can hang an small "pick"  off it if needed, or an large hammer. Would make an good gift for the guys with their back packs also.
