I've always had good experiences with Belgians. When I was in high school we had a foreign exchange student from Belgium. He was so pleasant and thoughtful. We wrote back and forth for awhile but I lost track of him.

I think it is great to learn of other places and people to try and close the gap between us all. Smile

Do you still know his name? Maybe I can find out where he lives?

Tell us more about Belgium Patrick! I would love to hear about it. Like what is the countries flower or tree? What besides chocolate is manufactured in Belgium?

Good question, Cathy. I never heard a teacher say that we have a national Flower or tree. Well known, especially to Brits is our red Poppy. So you all celebrate us in november. Thank you! :)

The tragedy of Belgium was that we have a central position, so we've seen almost every possible nationality the past few thousand years. Either to concour us or to liberate us. The benefit though is that we've adapted us to the ever changing situation. Maybe that's why we don't mind the EU? We have a mentality that whatever it is, it will also pass.

Other than chocolate what are some of the most enjoyed meals of the country?
