I was listeining to an talk show the other night on near-death expereinces..by an couple of experts in the field of research on it...R. Moody I think has an boook coming out called "Between Two Worlds" and he was saying that things are changing, he is seeing more people that help others over are themselves starting to "particiapte" in an kind of expereince... in doing that. As if they travel out-of-body now to take their loved one to meet the light at the end of the tunnel, or to loved ones in one case...and then they come back. They said it was giving them great "comfort" to know whom they left thier loved one with afterwards. Of course this started out in discussing the "love" we feel for others. How it can manifest into other realms. |

I think it's tough because we're all born with and continue to have good intentions toward our fellow beings, but then life happens..... I think where people get mixed up is in the various kinds of love there are, as Diana pointed out. But loving someone who hurts you might mean forgiving them, but it doesn't mean being their doormat. And it doesn't mean making excuses for their bad behavior. I think the love that Jesus commanded - not suggested, commanded - is not an emotion but an act of will. That's why it IS The Great Challenge. Love the unlovable. Nothing more challenging than that, and I for one, have a long, long way to go.
