I tend to find more funny moments in real life situations. However if I was going to choose a favourite comedian at the moment it would be Michael McIntyre and he tend to use real life situations in his stand up routines. I didn't realise that I liked him until I saw him on the Royal Variety and he made me laugh out loud which was an achievement! As a child I always loved Benny Hill! Who are your favourite comedians? |

Thats as well as Benny Hill. Gosh so many but lets see what the members come up with. |

I have never seen Michael McIntyre |

Such as Carol Burnette's weekly show. At least those are the ones I remember right now the most. Yes, Benny Hill...who can forget him. I still reember him running down an hill in his under-shorts having lost his clothes and hiding behind statues enroute...esp when he ends up in an fountain at the bottom and is standing there like an statue with his arms out.... as the "Queen Mother" comes by in an carriage...and she looks at him weirdly,as if to say...What's that?...and he smiles and blows out an little sprig of water like he's part of this statue...and won't be detected. It was funny. |

There is something special about a comedian who doesn't have to be vulgar or use profanity to be funny. Edited by: Diana Sinclair at:9th January 2010 19:42 |

I loved Tim Conway, Flip Wilson, George Burns, Jonathan Winters, Red Skelton, Dom Delouise, Johnny Carson, Carol Burnette, Harvey Korman, Hee Haw actors/actresses, Laugh-in actors/actresses, Smothers Brothers, Jerry Lewis, Abbott & Costello, Laurel & Hardy and so on. They were the good old days. I sure miss those people and their shows. Like Diana said, they needed no profanity or vulgarness or even sexually oriented talk to be funny! They were just natural! |

Ron - again your favourites are Terrys - I think you two would have alot in common. Peggy - sound like we would have alot in common too. Terry bought me the DVD of Michael McIntyre for Christmas. I haven't had chance to watch it yet so I don't know if he uses profanities. Like some of the others I prefer comedians not to swear. I have only seen him on the Royal Variety so he didn't swear on that! I'd forgotten about Dave Allen Sue - used to watch him when I was younger. |
