one of my favorites was robb wilton he was funny and my favorite american was jack benny along with phil silvers.

it takes a lot to make me laugh especally this lot who call themselves comedians.

I'm particularly fond of Brian Regan. I also like Patton Oswalt and Craig Ferguson. But for true originality, I'd have to go with Steven Wright. Here's a website with many of his best quotes, all of which he delivers in absolute deadpan:
