My two claim to fames weren't while travelling but living here in rural Nevada, but I've been bitten by a rattle snake and a black widow spider. Was really, REALLY sick with the spider bite.

Wow! I'm truly impressed. Would have loved to meet such an icon.

Michael - you sound just like me for getting into all sorts of scrapes! Good idea for a thread by the way.

Sue - my friend got bitten by a poisonous spider in Devon would you believe! She was very sick afterwards. I hate spiders - make me shudder!

George - bet that was a great experience. My husband went to the toilet with Tom Jones! His body guard tried to stop Terry but when you need to go, you need to go! That wasn't travelling though - Tom has a favourite pub he goes to when he is here which is local to us.

As for travelling experiences - we got married in Oahu Hawaii nearly 15 years ago which was a wonderful experience. I saved my two youngest boys from drowning two years ago in Cornwall and on the same holiday my eldest dislocated his knee and we had to have an ambulance to Truro. On a visit to Crete about 20 years ago I got stuck at the airport after a strike standing up outside for 24 hours with my case, when I eventually got on the plane I was sat next to a little brat who made a nightmare of the journey home, I was flown to Luton instead of Birmingham, attacked by a swarm of bees as I got on the coach transfer to Birmingham, stuck in traffic jams for 4 hours and when I got to Birmingham the person who had come to pick me up was missing and I found him drunk in the bar!

lol Steph, for those who didnt catch on,

ALIGATORS, NOT CROCS LIVE IN FLORIDA.

HOLLAND IS AS FLAT AS A PANCAKE.

THE HIGHEST POINT IN THE MALDIVES IS ABOUT 2 METERS.

AND TIGERS OF COURSE ARE NOT NATIVE TO AFRICA,

AS FOR THE SAHARA, IT IS A DESERT.lolLaughing
