Another family murder here too Krissy - a brother in his 20s stabbed his 9 year old brother to death and also stabbed his 18 year old sister.

Think you are right about chemicals Jason - we are exposed to so much in our food and in the environment. Drugs have also to answer for in many cases but not all these people were on drugs. I also agree about the clampits (having first hand experience of these people just not caring what they do to ruin other peoples lives).

I think its purely down to the upbringing of todays generations.

My generation, like me, brought up in the 50's and 60's drunk and also bathed in tap water piped to the tap through lead piping. I played with lead toy soldiers given as birthday or christmas presents and lead 'shot' was used on the fishing line, tied and knotted by mouth. I'm not saying Lead is safe, but I would not fully support that lead is the cause in this instance.

I dont want to get to heavy (no pun intended lol), but MAN (and woMAN) are part of the animal kingdom and will revert to animal behavoir if not controlled or guided. That control is held (in its early years) by its parents. If parental control was absent or misguided then the adult product will be lacking.

As the quote says, 'Give me the boy until he's seven and I will give you the man!' (or simular).

In today's materialistic world people have become more selfish, intolerant and insensitive to others. There is no time to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures that life has to offer. We are all the time busy trying to live a better life purely in "money"terms.Family ties and relationships are taking a back seat. The pressures of modern life are taking a toll on society everywhere and such terrible incidents are the tragic fallouts.

I agree with you Lancashire Love and Urmimala.  I do think that today a lot of the young people lack moral guidance and discipline and that we do place far more importance on material things than the simple pleasures in life.

Very interesting thread, Stephanie.  It's so sad.  We don't have enough bad news, without having the "breaking news" sensationalism on top of it.  It brings down your whole mood.  I agree with your post, Rob.  These types of stories appeal to our morbid curiosity and therefore there's a buck to be made.  The almighty dollar or pound rearing their ugly heads again.

And I agree with you, Jane.  There is a lack of moral guidance among so many young people today, but I fear the blame for that must lie squarely among us, the baby boomer parents who never grew up themselves.  So much of the good behavior and discipline that those of us who grew up in the 50s and 60s was simply never passed on to our next generations.
