Silly really, as I make sure my boys go, even though they too are scared. I'm glad you're all sorted Jason, it must have been so unpleasant.Edited by: Sue at:8th March 2010 15:25 |

The expectation of the pain and discomfort is too much. Even though it will have to be under general anaesthetic I am worrying about the after effects. And seeing as the pain is minimal and controllable I have been trying to ignore it and it obviously is not going to go away. A very timely message Jason, thank you |

It's been far too long and I should go. Who's coming with me????? Sorry you had to go through all the pain!! But you've made a good point about not putting it off!!!

No problems, no pain. Two years ago I cracked a molar. I went to my dentist and it could not be saved. I had three options: a. Leave an open gap (that creates a whole NEW set of problems) An implant is more like your own tooth. The procedure is lengthy; done in a couple of steps. At the end of the day, they drill into your jawbone, thread the hole, screw in a titanium post, and then cement an enamel crown in place. Not one moment of discomfort. If you are really nervous, have them give you nitrous. |

We don't have national health here either (thankfully). This was my choice. My private dental insurance covered $1500 and I had to pick up the the balance of $1800. Let's hope the democraps don't get their way. If they do, we'll be picking up the tab for everything they don't feel is necessary. |
