April 22, 1915: The German army uses poison gas against the British for the first time, in the Second Battle of Ypres.

My grandfather, who fought in the AEF, was gassed at Ypres in 1918 just a couple of weeks before the end of the war. Sort of puts the lie to nostalgia for "the good old days."

Some of the good ole days, just weren't....they were days of survival of the fittest. You learn things though reading some of this kind of bad stuff  in how to survive though...what to beware of also.
