Lawson Posts: 2310 Joined: 17th Jul 2008 Location: USA | quotePosted at 21:01 on 3rd May 2010 I am reading my book Native Roots by Jack Weatherford...and it says, The Pilgrims could not however send them to England. As early as 1596, and again in 1609, Queen Elizabeth had exiled all dark-skinned people from her realm. This expulsion order included "Negars and blackamoores" as well as Indians (Forbes 1988, p.55)....as much as many of us were made to watch the immigrations protests here an couple of days ago....for legallized marijuana and "free" amestiy in immigration reform..after constantly being made to clean up the mess of our southern nieghbors are making, I wish we could do something like this an get away with it. They are not here because they want to be citizens of the United States...they want an "free" handout as they climb the ladder of sucess...if not then an complete take-over. As the Cunningham show said last night, we have all kinds of decent people want in here that do not have an drug issue, that are sponsored by others, have good educations, been tested for health issues and can contribute something worthwhile to our country, they want to be legalized citizens...they are being made to "wait" while the illegals cross the borders with their crime and problems to burden us with them, to the tune of 7 million of them. Even our black people don't want to put up with them...citing they are dragging them lower into thrid world status then ever. We all are wondering..why don't the politicans stop them? They can't help but heard by now that their agenda is to take back the Southwestern United States and make it into their own "new" country when they get strong enough presence in the area. So they organized an national rally in all kinds of cities over the weekend, for immigration law reform...making them "automatic" citizens....and for legalized marijuana..so they can bring the whole mess of drugs up here on our streets with our kids also...which they have done, just they don't want thrown in jail for having done it if caught. As was said last night..look at their coutnry...it is an "narco-terrorist third world "peasant" country by their own making...its no wonder they want to go north...but do we need this mess? Do we really want that kind of leaderhsip in the future also. They do not honor the "laws" this nation has made already....What do you guys think? Recent crimes...illegal kiiled an "century" rancher (ranch has been in the family for over 100 years) in Arizonia, and left foot prints back over the border, it has incited the white folks so badly in Arizona they are preparing to arm themselves, they have for years now been stealing what ever they want off ranchers along the borders, killed thier amimals to eat, etc, in the crossing..they usually head for like "American hispanic citizens" down there to rape them so they have kids to make the kid automatically an "American" so they have an excuse for staying in the country...the drug stiuation has gotten so bad here, they just hauled off an member of the Mexican Drug Cartel, down by Salem, Oregon, doing millions of dollars of business nation wide... whom had an reputation of using the US Constituional rights to avoid getting prosecuted...well, the FBI caught him...they said that he knew he was being followed and "taunted' them constantly on what he could get away with here..."legally" with our laws, thorugh others...they have been breaking into the homes of other hispanics letting them know whom they are to "follow" also..and showing them what kind of "power" they have over our police authorities....they caught some in the next town from here where I live out in an remote area, as an "church' with not only drugs, and weapons, but even miltary style "rocket" launchers...they are tearing down the sides of bridges on roads to sell the metal in them for extra cash, on pulbic grounds they found an marijuana growing operation in eastern Oregon. Last week two on cocaine, beat an little 5 year old to her death, the police said that she'd had unset broken bones before..they took two more kids away to raise on Govenement funding...the police are asking neighbors why no one turned them in before now..why did they just turn their backs on them... in this pathetic case of child abuse...one of the worse they had seen in years. It goes on an on..how much more do we have to take of this crap?...then to tell us that we are not good to them because we don't want our kids subjected to their lifestyles they have made....and to an great degree are forcing upon us also. When they do work, they don't spend it here, they are sending the it home..Mexcio's second largest money maker is the money coming from the United States..they pay no taxes to support an thing here. They ask for free hospitalization, free education, free housing, free food, etc...things that even "Americans" are denied. Legalize marijuana..they need thier "butts" ousted quite plainly saying. Any Americans whom support this really need to grow up and wake up....to reality. |

(They should perhaps set up a fund to assist them in their return from whence they came!). The laws should not be changed to accommodate incomers to the detriment of the country's own people. |

This way if they get caught they think they wont be sent back because the authorities dont know where to send them, in steps the 'Human Rights' groups and before you know it they are given asylum. This could take months, in the mean time they are not allowed to find work but just hang around the streets living off the taxpayer and possibly turning to crime. The only answer is to help them make a decent living in their own country so that they stay there, That, hopefully is what the Afghanistan situation is all about, but it is a costly uphill struggle. It is going to cost us (the tax payer), what ever we do. |

Then they are returned to that place and let them sort out how they let illegals through (because they didn't want them to stay in their country!) Hard I know but it cannot continue! They can have the same accommodations and basic rations as the country's soldiers have to endure (and they have to still have to go out and fight for supposed freedom!) |

James, you don't know the half of it...they have been nation wide stealign old cars and taking from here and takig them back to Mexico for re-sale on the international scene, to the tune of finding 3,0000 ofthem parked down in Mexico. What gets to me is how "brazen" they are also to citizens here. AS if is our "duty" to put up with them, make all our tv and radio stations "hispanic", hire them and their relatives in fast food jobs over others, etc. I can rember when I worked at Bost Market we had an lady there that was telling our "boss" what to do, and if any of us ever tried that, we'd been showed the door. they are very effective to seeing to it that other pay homage to them, or leave the business...it is not about "sharing the Ameircan life"..its about thier supremecy while here. Some of it I call the so called "California attitude" because they migrated up here by the hoards in years past with fist-fulls of dollars..found out we didn't buy into it and so they left..but the drug Lors followed up here at the same time...and they haven't left, they have been playing the area for what they can get out of it. I refer to this "atitude" because it has no humilty, it refuses to take "no" for an answer also, it has no fear. I heard an California kid asked by the grandfather of this gal he was "eyeing" over to leave, and he refused, said he didn't have to, so the grandfather said, Leave or I'll make you..he said I'm under 18, touch me an I'll sue you..the grandfather said, well, I see, then that case I plan to beat the living hell out of you and make getting into trouble worth the effort and he took off his leather belt and started for him. His grand-daughter stopped him and the kid took off running like an coward to an neighor's house to call the cops on the grandfather...later on I saw the grandfather and asked him what happened, he said he put an restraining order on the kid being on his property...but the cops informed the kid he was owner of his own land..not the kid and had constitutional rights to do as he saw fit while living upon said land...they held him unitl his parents came an picked him up for being an minor out after curfew. But many of the hispanic kids are like this at times also. No tall of them, just an soem of them. But there is getting to be more of then as the immigration is hiked up crossing the borders...they are doing illegal things that they feel there is no law to stop them with. Less work in this country leads to idleness and more time to be destructive by some people. Best thing our city could do is to get an kids group togther to plant city wide...veggies or flowers for people. Start in their own neighborhoods also. People take pride in doing projects on their own and think about what the area looks like at the same time...more apt to take care of it. |
Ruth Gregory Posts: 8072 Joined: 25th Jul 2007 Location: USA | quotePosted at 04:20 on 6th May 2010 Ruth here, reporting from ground zero of the immigration controversy surrounding SB 1070, which was just signed into law in Arizona, making undocumented aliens from any country subject to arrest and compelling law enforcement agencies to ask for proof of legal residency/citizenship if they have reason to suspect a person of being here illegally. The Rev. Al Sharpton is leading a protest march on the state capitol here in Phoenix as I type this. There is a great fear of racial profiling. I told my husband that if I ever get stopped I'm going to talk to the policeman in an Irish brogue and see if he asks me for my papers. I have to say I'm torn about the whoe thing because of the abuses on both sides. But if asked whether I'm for or aganist it, I'd have to say I'm against it because, as written, it's fear based and mean spirited. The two main reasons it's such a hot button issue right now. 1) The lucrative and violent drug and human smuggling trade has created a war in the border cities that has left tens of thousands dead and is now spilling over into the US, as Shirley mentioned. 2) Arizona is broke, and the sheer numbers of undocumented people coming across the border are straining schools, emergency rooms, social services, etc. Both of these causes can be laid squarely at the feet of the American system. First, why is the drug trafficking so lucrative? Because the cartels have customers here of course. The govt. either needs to legalize drugs or start building more prisons for these "customers." For the second reason, it must be realized that most of the people coming in are dirt poor and want for their children what you and I want for ours - access to good health care, education, and for the poorest of them, shelter that doesn't include a dirt floor and a tin roof. So you can lay a lot of the blame at the feet of the Mexican government, which makes the Afghan government look downright angelic. People, especially from Mexico and Central America, have been coming across the border illegally for GENERATIONS, and we were all willing to turn a blind eye while there were just enough of them to clean our hotel rooms, and wash dishes in our restaurants, and clean our offices, and do our landscaping. But where we screwed up was when we started allowing a single mother with 6 kids to just come into a welfare office, have only to say to a bilingual case worker, "no esposo, no hablo Engles," and she gets welfare and food stamps and state subsidized health care. So the people back home in Mexico or Central America then say, "Wow, the streets really are paved with gold there." That's where people should have to show proof of citizenship. No papers, no legal residency - no help. So there are no easy answers. Dozens of organizations and city goverments across the US have cancelled travel, meetings, conferences and conventions here in a protest botcott. The economy here is heavily dependent on the tourist trade, so the hotels and resorts are singing the blues, but they won't have any staff to clean their hotels anyway. Now the fatcats who own slaughterhouses agribusiness farms of thousands of acres will now have to pay their fellow Americans a decent living wage, or let the produce rot in the fields. That is if they can find any Americans who are now on welfare or unemployment to do the back breaking labor they feel is beneath them. The United States of America is a nation of immigrants. Unless you are descendant from the American Indian tribes who were conquered by Europeans, your ancestors came here from Europe, Asia, or were brought in chains from Africa. The greatness of our nation lies in its diversity, but in the past the people who came said bye, bye to the old country and wanted nothing more than to become Americans. Now everybody who comes here wants to make it New (name the country). That's very disconcerting to citizens and legal residents who go out to work every day and have all these taxes taken out of their checks to support those who are here for the free ride. There are no easy answers. Can you deny a sick child medical care? No. Is it fair that there's not path to legal residency for a college student whose parents brought him here illegally as an infant, and now he may be facing deportation to a third world country that he's never even been to? The bottom line is greed - on both sides of the border. Although I'm against the bill as written, I'm glad that its brought to light the abuses and the fact that something has to be done to address this situation. I think it's going to get a lot uglier before it gets better. |

No one country, or government has the answer to imigration. If you are a wealthy country, those not so wealthy want a bite of your apple and they will try every trick in the book to get it. |
