After failing to gain enough seats in Parliment to form a 'strong ' government for the next four years, British Primeminister Gordon Brown has now stood down his party leaving the way open for a weak Conservative-Liberal co-ilition party to form the next government. A decent good family man, who lead the Country out of world recession, Gordon Brown was ridiculed by many who supported opposition parties, due to his commitment to the less well-off and his sense of fair play. Fools scoffed at him and only time will tell of the impact and leadership he had with the rest of Europe and beyond. We will now have a weak Government, already squabbling within themselves, who will find it difficult to agree on policy, milking the economy proir to calling another election within the year. by that time of course the wealthy would have raided the national larder leaving the misguided not so wealthy that voted for them, to struggle to maintain their positions and jobs as they attempt to reap the weakened seeds they are about to sow In the meantime, the present outgoing government will have regrouped under a younger dynamic leader ready to pick up the dregs left behind by the fleeing failed coilition government God Bless Great Britain.. |

Now let me think.....who was Tony Blair, and how did he come to leave number 10 Downing Street? Oh yes, I remember, he was pushed out by our unelected Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Now at last, we WILL HAVE an elected Prime Minister! Feeling sorry for you mate because I know what your feelings are via the POE forum of course. It's an opinion at the end of the day for ALL of us. BTW you can keep the bottle of Brown Ale (the sporting bet we had) but don't water it down too much eh? Lol |

He showed great dignity in the last five days I just have this gut feeling having David Cameron as Prime Minister will be a total disaster for the UK. I guess will just have to wait and see. |

I never thought GB was the ideal PM but I do believe that the reason this country managed to survive the recession when others failed was due to his experience gained at number 11. To politely correct you, we never appoint an 'elected' Prime Minister, here in the UK , we elect a party who, in turn, vote for their leader, who then serves as the Prime Minister. This of course being a Parlimetary Election, differs from Presidential Elections such as those in the US who do elect a specfic leader. I once said in a post to this site that I never argue politics or religion, I accept your glass of brown ale and hopefully will now move on to more lighthearted 'banter' within this site. In reference to the other POE members who tolerated my comments and views throughout this past month, thank you for reading or commenting on my views but hopefully I've demonstrated and outlined the feelings or the happenings of just some of the British people. |

Now c'mon Michael you are being a little picky now, aren't you? What I said amount's to the same thing... David Cameron IS NOW Prime Minister and has just left Buckingham Palace, it's Official! Remember Michael, it's all about opinion and we are alway's going to differ, no matter who we are. However, the people have used their opinion and voted Tory. |
