As an  (grand)mother I do occasionally an short whistle with hand language included,,,it goes something like this...."whirp"...Hey you...yeah...you!... wiggling finger "come here" toward where I'm at.... "come here and pick this up and put it where it belongs!.... Thank you!"

On occasion though, I've seen an sexy guy and then its an kind of  an low almost silent... Whew...Oh La-la-la!    comment...not an complete percentage of pure 100 per cent clear throated vocal whistle....I"d turn "beat red" embarassed  if it was.

I also have an certain kind of whistle that's weird for calling our cats to come home also...I also have an bird whistle for Ruby that sound kinds of high/low or.....how are you?

I can whistle ridiclously loud with three fingers. My grandmother taught me how to do it.

I do it for attention! Or a party trick! LOL!!!

Trust me...it makes me ears ring.

Our family had a signal whistle when I was growing up. We lived on a couple of acres, so if we were down the bottom of the garden, the signal whistle would call us in. Saved allot of unnecessary time and walking.

I don't often whistle now. I'm not good at it.
