Does anybody know how painful this condition is?

Has anybody else been unfortunate enough to have been diagnosed with it, after me that is? Just can't begin to tell you how painful this disease is as blood manage's to somehow travel through the lipomas. They increase in size (this is when they are at their most painful) and shrink when they think the time is right. Nobody seems to know what triggers them, they are just 'fat lumps' that can appear anywhere. At times totally debilitating and being treated with Morphine (MST), Codeine Phosphate and Paracetamol. Oh, and Oramorph for a quick fix.......painkillers!

Anybody want to invest in a cure? By the way, fortunately, it's not infectious!

Ouch Ron, I am so sorry to hear that and hope that it goes away as quickly as it came. With Morphine, codeine and paracetamol I am surprised you are still awake at all!

As well as a large whiskey when they are really bad CathyML. Honestly, so painful and first identified by Frances X Dercum back in the late 19th Century. Nothing appears to have been researched since!

So sorry to hear about your affliction, Ron! I hope that something can be done about it soon! Here is a website from the U.S. National Institutes of Health that provides some information: http://www.genome.gov/17516629.
