For the first time in some 28 years, good or bad? What do you think, what difference can he make?

Probably not much, Ron, but it can't hurt.  I think he's concerned about other religions taking over in Britain, and all of Europe, for that matter, if you get my drift.

I concur with the rest of you. It probably won't make much of a difference, but the Catholics will like that he has made an appearance. They love their "Papa".  Perhaps he'll bring a bit of good will? Let's hope.

I dont think this particular pontif is as well liked or respected as the last one, I believe the present pope was a member of 'Hitler Youth' when he was younger, he also 'covered-up' many of the 'child molesting Priests' and wont allow Priests to marry or have a 'normal' realationship with the opposite sex. He also doesnt want women church leaders, he believes women are good for arranging the flowers in the church and making cups of tea lol. Plus its costing the British tax-payer £12 million for his short visit here. I saw the last one to visit the UK in the 80's, he had something about him, I cant see the same in this one. IMO I wish him a safe visit though.

I think the lack of response says it all. He would have been better off staying at home, so would the Taxpayer!!

My friends' daughter has been selected to participate in the Big Assembly held at Twickenham among 3000 other school children from all over Britain. She's very excited about it!

It will be a great experience for her, Gemm. Something that she will carry with her for a lifetime.

That's exactly what I said to her, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It'll be an early morning though.... leaving home at 4am!
